Roberta Altin is associate professor of cultural anthropology at the Department of Humanities, University of Trieste (Italy). Her research has mainly focused on transantional migrations, refugees studies and intercultural education. She is the coordinator of CIMCS – Centre for Migration & International Cooperation on Sustainable Development, University of Trieste.

Elisa Alves holds a PhD in Migration Studies (IGOT - Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning - University of Lisbon). Between 2016-2019 she was member of the IMISCOE PhD Network, and co-coordinator of the Workshop Group.

She holds a Master's in Education and Society (ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon), a Master's in Economics and Public Policy (ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management - University of Lisbon), and a Degree in Political Science and International Relations (Catholic University of Portugal).

In the past years, she has collaborated with the European Migration Network and the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service in several studies on the Portuguese case, as consultant and author. Has also participated in several research projects at CIES - Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology of ISCTE, in particular on education and higher education.

Her main interests are international students and mobility, public policies on education, migration and integration.

I hold a PhD in Cultural Studies (University of Minho, Portugal), and master's and bachelor's degrees in Psychology (Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), Brazil). I was a postdoctoral fellow at UFES/Brazil. Currently, I am a collaborator researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS)/University of Minho. I am also a team member of the project "Migrations, media and activisms in Portuguese language: decolonising mediascapes and imagining alternative futures" (MigraMediaActs, FCT, 2022-2025). I collaborated on the project COST Action IS 1205: 'Social psychological dynamics of historical representations in the enlarged European Union', and I was a researcher at the Network of Studies and Research in Social Psychology (REDEPSO)/Brazil. I have experience in the fields of Social Psychology and Cultural Studies, with an emphasis on identity processes, intergroup relations, and socio-cultural practices. My research interests include: migration, intercultural communication, minority groups, prejudice, discrimination, social inequality, social representations, social memory, Latin America, and decolonial thinking.

Associate Professor of Demography at the Faculty of Economics and affiliated to the Department of Methods and Models for Economics, Territory and Finance -Sapienza University of Rome. She holds a PhD in Demography and Economics (2006) from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris. She has been working since more than 10 years on international migration, with special attention to migrants’ integration, migration policies and demographic behavior of migrant populations.

Livio Amigoni is PhD candidate at the Social Science Department (DISFOR), curriculum Migration and Intercultural Relations, of the University of Genoa. He is actually developing an ethnographic work on Sudanese forced migration focusing on factors driving high-risk migration pathway and support networks to the journeys. He is part of the solidarity network Progetto20K active since 2016 in the Ventimiglia border area and in the project Eufemia Info&Legal Point.

I have a master's degree in economics and geography at Abderahmane Mira University in Bejaia, Algeria. Currently, I am a doctoral student in the same specialty at the same university. I am working as part of my doctoral thesis on the international migration of highly qualified scientists.

Javier J. Amores is Research Personnel member of the Observatory for Audiovisual Contents (OCA), Recognized Research Group and Research Group of Excellence of Castile and Leon (Spain). Graduated in Audiovisual Communication and Master in Audiovisual Communication Research with Extraordinary Prize from the University of Salamanca, he is currently developing his doctoral thesis at the same university, with the financial support of the Castile and Leon Regional Government and the European Social Fund. His lines of research are focused on the study of public opinion, coverage and representations of refuge and migration, ways of rejecting migrants, hate speech, analysis of media and social networks, and computational methods applied in social sciences.
Javier J. Amores is a member of the International Communication Association (ICA), the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), the Spanish Association for Communication Research (AE-IC) and the Political Communication Association (ACOP).

Megha Amrith has been the leader of the Max Planck Research Group “Ageing in a Time of Mobility” at MPI-MMG since January 2018. Her research focuses on migrant labour, care, ageing, gender, inequalities, belonging and citizenship, primarily in Southeast Asia, but also drawing upon comparative ethnographic perspectives beyond the region. She is author of the monograph “Caring for Strangers: Filipino Medical Workers in Asia” (NIAS Press, 2017) and her current research is on ageing migrant domestic workers. Megha Amrith obtained a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge under a Gates Cambridge scholarship. Prior to joining MPI-MMG, she held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Centre for Metropolitan Studies at the University of São Paulo (2012-2013) and a research fellowship at the United Nations University Institute for Globalization, Culture and Mobility, Barcelona (2014 – 2017).
