PhD candidate in Law and Pluralism in the School of Law in the University of Milano – Bicocca. Her current research project is about Muslim family Law in Europe. She got her first PhD in Islamic Jurisprudence and Its Foundations from The University of Jordan, where she published two monographic books; “The Legal Ruling, Which Concerns Muslim Minorities’ Personal Status”, and “Legal & Religious Consequences of Immaterial Harm- a comparative study”, both in Arabic. She is also currently collaborating with the University of Milan, and with SSML Carlo Bo Institute to teach the Arabic language, beside her writings in Aljazeera Media Network blogs

Tunay Altay is a PhD candidate in Humboldt University’s Department of Diversity and Social Conflict. His research and teaching focuses on race critical theories, immigration, gender and sexuality. As part of his cumulative dissertation, Tunay is working on the historical, socio-economic, and institutional factors that affect the lives of marginalized people and how they respond to discrimination, stigmatization in Germany. His previous work involved qualitative studies of the experiences of LGBTQ immigrant groups and Bulgarian sex workers in Berlin. His research has been supported by the DAAD, DeZIM, Heinrich Böll Sitftung, and Humboldt University's Institute for Social Sciences, among others. In addition, Tunay writes cultural commentaries about politics, popular culture, and activism in Germany and Turkey. He is a board member of the European Network for Queer Anthropology (ENQA).

Roberta Altin is associate professor of cultural anthropology at the Department of Humanities, University of Trieste (Italy). Her research has mainly focused on transantional migrations, refugees studies and intercultural education. She is the coordinator of CIMCS – Centre for Migration & International Cooperation on Sustainable Development, University of Trieste.

Wendy Altınörs is a PhD candidate focusing on lived experiences of integration through an intergenerational lens adopting use of positioning theory and ethnic boundary making strategies. She has a particular interest in migration histories, especially those of a Turkish migration background.

Birce Altıok is the Coordinator and Post-doc Researcher at the Migration Research Center at Koç University (MiReKoc). She has been working in different research projects as a researcher mainly on forced migration for the past several years. She completed her doctoral research in Political Science and International Relations at Koç University (2021) and MA in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University (2011) and BS in Global and International Affairs from Binghamton (SUNY) and Boğaziçi University (2010). She wrote her PhD dissertation on refugee activism with a special focus on state-civil society relations. She has publications on foreign policy, social cohesion, and civil society. Her research interests include forced migration, diversity and internationalization of higher education, state policies and inclusion.

Juan Francisco Alvarado is a researcher at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam in the topic of entrepreneurial failure and recovery. His PhD research was carried out at the universities of Milan and Brescia in Italy and University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. His project investigated the role of innovation and social networks as a characteristics of migrant entrepreneurs.
