I am a faculty member in the school of social work at San Jose State University in San Jose California. My research is on culturally-effective health and behavior health services for refugees and forced migrants.

PhD in Sociology at the University of Seville in Spain. Wrote her PhD thesis on the role of labour market determinants over the migration of Turkish nationals to the European Union by comparing the labour market policies of Denmark, Germany, the UK, Spain and Estonia, as well Turkey and the EU. Expert in social science research with large data sets using data analytic software packages, survey software, quantitative and qualitative research methods (mixed methods), fast-paced research projects, data collection, and data cleaning/analysis/reporting/ visualization. Big data survey analyst. Good knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS). Advanced knowledge in quantitative research, such as descriptive statistics including crosstabs and frequencies and econometric analysis including correlations and regressions, and qualitative research such as systematic literature review, social networks, document review, focus groups, and in-depth interviews, mixed methodology, and action research (community based participatory research). Author of 10 peer-reviewed articles, 3 non-peer-reviewed articles, 3 reports, and 4 book chapters, indexing in SSCI and Scopus.

Leonora Dugonjic-Rodwin is a senior analyst at l'Ecole normale supérieure Paris-Saclay and associate professor (docent) at Uppsala University, Sweden. She investigates social inequality in transnational contexts such as migration, internationalisation, and globalisation. She holds a PhD in sociology and a Masters in social sciences from the EHESS in Paris. She is the author of a book in French, Le privilège d’une éducation transnationale: sociologie historique du baccalauréat international (2022) and four other articles available in English language journals: International Studies in Sociology of Education (2021), Journal of Curriculum Studies (2018), UNESCO’s Prospects: Quarterly Review of Comparative Education (2015), and Paedagogica Historica (2014).

Speranta Dumitru is a lecturer in Political Science at the University of Paris, Faculty of Law, Economics and Management, a member of Ceped (IRD), and a fellow of Collaborative French Institute on Migration. A former laureate of the Fondation des sciences sociales, she held the CNRS Chair of Excellence in Political Science/Social Ethics. She was Principal Investigator in two collaborative projects: one on methodological nationalism, the other on the migration-development nexus. Her current research focuses on freedom of movement, illegalization, gender & migration, and the abolition of passports. Speranta Dumitru has published in various journals such as Migration Studies, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Women's Studies International Forum, Cahiers d’histoire, Dianoia, Revue Européenne des Migrations Internationales, Hommes & Migrations, Migrations Société, Ethical Perspectives etc.

Associate Professor in the TOBB-ETU University in Ankara. He completed his dissertation at the EHESS in Paris, published in Turkish (Modern Turkey’s Cipher: The Ethnic Engineering of the CUP, iletisim, 2008). He conducted his academic activities in more than ten universities and centers (France, the USA, Germany and Turkey). He mainly focuses on the relationship between population-identity-politics in the Ottoman Empire, Modern Turkey and Iraq. Atakan DURMAZ is an Associate Professor of Economics and Finances at Samsun University in Turkey. He holds a PhD from the Karadeniz Technical University, Department of Economics, has conducted research at Duisburg-Essen University’s Stiftung Zentrum Für Türkeistudien Und Integrationsforschung. His main academic interests include; Turkish diaspora, migration economics, low-skilled and high-skilled Migrant labours, return migration.
