International Framework for Action To Implement the Smuggling of Migrants Protocol

The purpose of the Smuggling of Migrants Protocol is to “prevent and combat the smuggling of migrants, as well as to promote cooperation among States Parties to that end, while protecting the rights of smuggled migrants” (article 2). In other words, the Protocol sets out to promote cooperation to target criminal smugglers and protect those they smuggle.
