SDG Financing linkages to remittances

Although remittances are private transfers, they form an important part of external financial flows for countries and flow directly to the achievement of several SDGs including those relating to health, education, nutrition and housing. The note provides an overview of the work of the UN System in general in the area of SDG Financing, with highlights of activities undertaken by some UN partners (eg. IOM) on remittances and financial inclusion. Relevant for policymakers to understand the linkage between Financing for Development and Remittances and the work of international organizations in this context.
