Las Directrices Generales Inter-Agenciales sobre Niñas y Niños No Acompañados y Separados están destinados a orientar las acciones futuras y se basan en el derecho internacional de los derechos humanos, humanitario y de refugiados. Buscan asegurar que todas las acciones y decisiones tomadas con respecto a los niños separados estén ancladas en un marco de protección y respeten los principios de unidad familiar y el interés superior del niño.
