Quadrennial report on regional progress and challenges in relation to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean
Almost four years after the international community adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the third meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development is a propitious occasion to take stock of the achievements made and the problems whose solution poses challenges for the region.
That stocktaking of the situation and analysis of the reasons for it is precisely the purpose of this Quadrennial report on the progress and challenges of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Latin America and the Caribbean. This report brings together the main analyses and conclusions set forth in the reports presented to the Forum at its two previous meetings, in Mexico City in 2017 and in Santiago in 2018 and broadens them in response to shifts in economic and social conditions and to the new data available. This document is presented to the member countries as a contribution that testifies to the value of the regional dimension in the efforts of the United Nations to support governments in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
