Doctoral student at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne - Institut of Demography and data analyst at the World Food Programme; focusing on the refugee demographics and how reproductive preferences change for refugee populations particularly for the case of Syrian refugees in the MENA region from a gendered perspective.

I previously worked with the UN, Netherlands Government and NGO’s across Asia and Eastern Africa focusing on mixed migration, protection, human rights and shelter, before returning to academia with a MSc in International Animal Health (Edin), writing a thesis on animal health in complex humanitarian emergencies. For my PhD in Veterinary Medicine sI study zoonoses - diseases transmitted between animals and humans - in displaced populations, with a focus on the Greater Horn of Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.

Her research interests concern the intersections of gender, migration and, bordering. Her recent published work explores the impact of uncertain migratory contexts and citizenship status on migrant families.

Sara Brandellero is affiliated to the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society (LUCAS), where she specializes in the cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world, with a special focus on Brazil. She leads the collaborative HERA-funded project Night Spaces: migration, culture and integration in Europe (NITE), which brings together research teams from Leiden, University College London, Humboldt, Aarhus, Limerick. Emiliya has extensive experience as a refugee integration expert at the UN Refugee Agency and in the civil society sector in Bulgaria. She holds an LLM degree in European and International Human Rights Law (cum laude) from Leiden University and an MSc in social sciences from the University of Amsterdam. Her interests lie in the intersection between refugee and human rights law, EU law and its implementation in various contexts, such as in Central and Eastern Europe. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, Lund University, Sweden.

Marita Brcic Kuljis is an associate professor at Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Split. She has PhD in political philosophy in 2012. Her scientific interests are human rights democracy, justice, migration, EU, multiculturalism and education.
She holds lectures in Philosophy of Politics, Philosophy of Democracy, Philosophy of Justice, Introduction to the Philosophy of Multiculturalism, Philosophy of Education, etc. She is a member of Croatian Philosophical Society and Society for Applied Philosophy. She is a member of Editorial Board of the Filozofska istraživanja (Philosophical Investigations), Synthesis Philosophica scientific journals and Journal of Croatian Studies. She publishes scientific papers from political philosophy, justice, human rights and education. As lecturer and organizer, she participates in many domestic and international scientific conferences and summer schools. Reviewed a number of scientific papers for domestic and international journals. She collaborated in several different European and national research projects.
