I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Sociology at Koç University in Turkey. My dissertation focuses on cross-border mobility and trade, particularly examining the construction of masculinities at the intersections of border, exchange, and gender.

I’m a Research Professor in Migration Studies at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO). My disciplinary background is in Geography, and my overarching research focus is on the dynamics of migration and transnationalism, in both contexts of emigration and of immigration. My research spans different categories of migrants, including refugees, labour migrants and return migrants, and includes the perspectives of migrants, non-migrant populations, and state actors in emigration and immigration contexts.

Merve Erdilmen is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Political Science with Gender Studies Specialization at McGill University. Her research has been supported by Mitacs Globalink, Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship (CSDC), Local Engagement Refugee Research Network, and Women in International Security (WIIS). She was also a research associate at at GLOBALCIT at the European University Institute. Her areas of research are gender and migration policies, international practices of refugee regime in the Middle East, and political rights of migrants and refugees. Merve's research has been published in the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.

I am currently a PhD candidate in English Language Teaching Program, Language Studies Track at METU, Turkey. My research interests lie at the nexus of sociolinguistics, linguistic ethnography and critical discourse studies. I primarily focus on politics of linguistic identity in migratory and minority contexts; discourses around migration in online and offline settings; return migration; gender, sexuality and language; new media discourses. I am the coordinator of the Discourse and Corpus Research Group (DISCORE) at METU .

Dr. Zahide Erdoğan received her PhD on Social Policy from the University of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt, Turkey. She holds a Master's degree in Public Finance from Gazi University and she is a graduate of Ankara University's Political Science Faculty's Public Administration program. She works as a visiting lecturer in Turkey. She has been working as an expert at the one of the public institutions since 2010. From October 2018 to October 2019, she was a visiting academic at the University of Oxford COMPAS. Her areas of expertise include integration policies, diaspora policies, highly skilled migration

I am a demographer and hold degrees from the University of Strasbourg (MSc, 2007), the European Doctoral School of Demography (EDSD, 2009) and the University of Bordeaux (PhD, 2015). Since September 2022 I work as an Assistant Professor at the University of Salamanca (USAL) and previously I have worked at the French Institute for Demographic Studies (INED), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the National University of Distance Education (UNED).
My research focuses on international migration and mobility in Europe, as well as the role of public policies in shaping them. I am particularly interested in the experiences of children and youth in migration: family situations, living conditions, legal status, education, health. I also study existing and emerging migration flows to and within Europe, with an interest in hard-to-count migrant groups, such as temporary migrants, return migrants, EU nationals, posted workers.
My research focuses on international migration and mobility in Europe, as well as the role of public policies in shaping them. I am particularly interested in the experiences of children and youth in migration: family situations, living conditions, legal status, education, health. I combine multiple data sources (surveys, population censuses, administrative data) and the analysis of their advantages and limitations, as well as existing data gaps is another line of my research.

Keina Espiñeira is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Sociology and Visual Communication, A Coruña University (Spain) and member of the Research Group in the Sociology of International Migration (ESOMI). She graduated in Political Science from Complutense University and in Visual Studies from Carlos III University. She holds a PhD in Political Conflict and Peace Processes from Complutense University and an M.A. in Documentary Cinema from Alcalá University. Her research focuses on the politics of migration and asylum in the Mediterranean region. She focuses her empirical research on the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan Africa. She teaches international relations, comparative politics, border and migration studies. Her artistic research practice arises from politics and academic activism, and it involves fieldwork from a multidisciplinary approach. She is director of documentary films in which she explores cultural geographies, landscapes and mythologies between Africa and Europe. Borders have a pivotal role in her work.
