Gerhard is a political anthropologist focussing on refugee and immigration studies and policy, spiritual and existential security as well as religion and the state.
He is co-editor of a volume on human security and Australian foreign policy published by Allen and Unwin as well as one on Urban refugees: Challenges in Protection, Services and Policy, published by Routledge.

Jenna Holliday is a migration, labour rights and gender specialist. Jenna consults extensively for UN and international organisations, in particular the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and UN Women, providing expert support on integrating gender and labour perspectives into migration policy. Her work is predominantly focused on the Asia region. She is a member of the Expert Working Group for Addressing Women’s Human Rights in the Global Compact for Migration and has written widely on the extent to which development agendas respond to women migrant workers including the recently published International Journal of Law in Context article titled “Incongruous Objectives- Endeavouring to Realise Women Migrant Workers’ Rights through the Global Development Agendas".

Sophie Hölscher is a PhD student at the Department of Educational Psychology - Socialisation and Culture at the University of Halle. Her research focuses on how to promote relatedness and autonomy in the school context, as well as it's interaction with ethnic and national identity.

Research Topic: Exploring the potentials of Interculturalism in supporting Social Cohesion: A Case Study of South Asian Migrants in London and Auckland

I am currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, University of Warsaw. My main research interests focus on collective identities and geographic mobility, tourist and migratory alike. Specifically, my research is on migrants' leisure and transformations of the imaginaries of the good life due to migration. I use discourse analysis and ethnographic methods to study these processes. I have been a ​guest lecturer, fellow, and researcher at the University of Cambridge, University of Wolverhampton, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, ISCTE in Lisbon and Alpen-Adria University in Klagenfurt.
