La Station nouveau départ ambitionne de mettre fin au « parcours du combattant » auquel se heurte encore trop de nouveaux arrivants. À son ouverture en 2023, elle permettra à Montréal d’assumer pleinement son rôle de métropole d’immigration. Comme point de services public principal dans la métropole, elle centralisera et facilitera les processus requis à l'installation des dizaines de milliers de nouveaux arrivants - tous statuts d’immigration confondus - qui s'établissent chaque année à Montréal. Accélérer l’intégration socioprofessionnelle des nouveaux arrivants demeure un enjeu de développement économique et social crucial. Par le déploiement de ce projet, la Ville s'attend à plusieurs impacts : 1) Simplifier et raccourcir de façon considérable les démarches auprès des instances publiques pour les bénéficiaires; 2) Faire tomber les silos organisationnels, créer une synergie sous un même toit permettant aux partenaires de trouver des solutions innovantes pour mieux répondre aux besoins des usagers; 3) Offrir un accompagnement inégalé par le biais d'accompagnement interculturel et d'une programmation offerte sur place (activités culturelles, visites des quartiers, ateliers et séances d'information dans le domaine de l'emploi, de l'intégration, de l'habitation, etc.); 4) Contribuer à la relance économique inclusive, qui doit miser sur l'immigration et la création d'emplois.
