Alyssa Marie Kvalvaag is a PhD Research Fellow in Sociology researching representations of migrant integration in the North of Norway with a local focus on policy, media, and migrant perspectives; she is affiliated with the research division Welfare and Social Relations. Kvalvaag is a Book Review Editor at the Nordic Journal of Migration Research and a member of the inaugural cohort of the IMISCOE PhD Academy.​

I am an Assistant Professor in Education and Social Justice with the University of York. I hold a PhD in education from the Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS), University of Bayreuth, Germany. From a social justice and inclusion perspective, my doctoral project explored marginalised minorities and education in Ghana. My first and second degrees are in Political Science from the University of Ghana.

I was a recipient of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Research fellowship at the University of Edinburgh in 2020/2021. I worked as a subject specialist for the Global Education Monitoring Report in 2018 where I was commissioned to write a background paper for the 2019 Global Education Monitoring Report, "Migration, displacement and education: Building bridges, not walls".

I am PhD in Human Rights from the University of Palermo, Italy (2008). I am “Ramón y Cajal” Research Fellow (a competitive research program funded by the Spanish Ministry of of Science, Innovation and Universities) at the Institute of Philosophy of the Spanish National Research Council. I have teaching and research experience in Spanish and foreign institutions, including the University of Palermo, University of California-Berkeley, Center for Human and Social Sciences of CSIC, Center for Political and Constitutional Studies of Madrid, UNED, Complutense University, University Carlos III of Madrid and Nebrija University. My field of research is Feminist Philosophy of Law. My research interests lie in between Philosophy of Law, Gender Studies, Law & Society, Critical Theory, and International Migration Studies. In my publications I adopt an interdisciplinary approach to address issues related to human rights, intersectionality, social change, equality and non-discrimination policies, policy implementation, migration and integration policies, citizenship and belonging, identity formation, diversity among women, autonomy vs cultural practices. I am also author of numerous publications in indexed journals and chapters of books (in English, Spanish and Italian) such as Politics and Gender, Law & society Review, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Policy and Society, among others. I am co-author of the monograph "Hacia la implementación de la interseccionalidad" (Aranzadi 2020) and edited the volumes “Identity and Migration in Europe” (Springer 2015), “Igualdad de género y no discriminación en España” (CEPC 2016), “Challenging the Borders of Justice in the Age of Migrations” (Springer 2019). I have been PI of 6 competitive research projects on gender, migration and human rights, and participated in numerous national and international R&D as a team member. I am currently member of the Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality and Anti-Discrimination Law. I regularly serve as a peer reviewer for research agencies, indexed journals and book publishers. Encarnación La Spina is currently Researcher Ramón y Cajal post-doctoral scholarship programme (Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and University) at the Faculty of Law and Pedro Arrupe Human Rights Institute of the University of Deusto. She obtained a degree in Law (2004) and her PhD in Law from the University of Valencia in 2010. She also completed a M.A. in Human Rights, Democracy and International Justice (2010) and two postgraduate diploma (2008). Over the last decade, She has conducted academic activities about migrant rights, discrimination and integration policies in the framework of four highly competitive, internationally renowned post-doctoral scholarships: Vali+d GVA at Paris Ouest La Défense University (2011-2013), Fernand Braudel-IFER incoming/Marie Curie COFUND at Aix Marseille University (2014-2015) Juan de la Cierva MINECO at the University of Deusto (2015-2017) and Ramon y Cajal MICINN at the University of Deusto (2018-2023). She has also worked as researcher in 14 competitive projects, including 7 funded by the Spanish National R&D Plan, Basque Government and 2 by the European Commission (Labexmed-Amorce and Jean Monnet programmes) related to human rights, migrant stereotypes and the legal protection of migrants in the European Union. In addition, she has collaborated in several research agreements and contracts with significant social impact at the local level (Report on the reception of refugees in Bizkaia and Goihabe programme report on the integration of refugees in Bizkaia), two research network IMISCOE, HURIAGE and she granted the 2018 Leonardo Grant for Researchers and Cultural Creators, BBVA Foundation BBVA entitled “Legal protection of refugee in vulnerable situation and their impact in integration processes”.

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Sociology at the University of Amsterdam since September 2021. I hold a PhD from Maastricht University on the relevance of citizenship for the educational outcomes of the children of immigrants in the Netherlands.

Thomas Lacroix is CNRS Director of research in geography. He works on the relationships between immigrant transnationalism and the state, with a focus on North African transnationalism. He extensively published on the migration and development relationship, diasporic memory, the moral geography of migration or the theory of transnationalism.

More recently, Lacroix’s research examines cities and city networks engagement on migration and integration issues. He is particularly interested in the place of cities in the building of a global migration governance framework. He also explores the epistemology of migration studies, with a special interest in the role of the Critique in migration research and the social engagement of scholars. He is engaged in a multidisciplinary dialogue between social scientists and other disciplinary domains such as the humanities, philosophy and mathematics.

Thomas Lacroix was awarded a PhD in geography and political sciences at the University of Poitiers (2003). He held research positions at the CEDEM (University of Liège), the Centre Jacques Berque (Rabat), the CRER (University of Warwick), the International Migration Institute (Oxford University), Migrinter (University of Poitiers) and the Maison Française of Oxford. He regularly teaches at the Master level at Sciences Po, Oxford University, the University of Poitiers and the University St Joseph in Beyrouth.

Thomas Lacroix is associate editor of Migration Studies, editor of the series "Migrations" at the Presses Universitaires François Rabelais and seats at the editorial board of Migration and Development (Routledge). He is fellow of the Institut Convergence Migrations in Paris and research associate at Migrinter and the Maison Française of Oxford.

Ijeoma Stephanie Ladele is the Founder, Environmental Conflict Mediation and Women Development Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organization based in Ibadan, Nigeria.
She is a certified trainer, a chartered Mediator , a certified health, safety and environmental Consultant at SILE Consultancy services, previously she worked as Programme/ Field Officer with Human Advancement and Community Helpers League in Africa(HACHPLE AFRICA) under the European Union -micro Project Programme in six states of Niger Delta(EU-MPP6) from 2005-2008, She has served as research assistant on Building Nigerian’s Response to Climate Change in South East, Improved Reproductive health survey, National HIV/AIDS and Reproductive survey, Orphans and Vulnerable Children situation Analysis by Nigerian Environmental Study Team, Society for Family Health and USAID in South East , Nigeria respectively.
Ijeoma is a member of the following networks, Women Mediators across Common wealth Countries(WMC) Network of African Women in Conflict Prevention and Mediation (FemWise-Africa, Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Society for Peace Studies and practice (SPSP), Institute for Chartered Mediators and Conciliators of Nigeria(ICMC), West African Network on Peacebuilding (WANEP) , Civil Society Coalition for Sustainable Development (CSCSD), Global Network of civil society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) and 100 Women Lobby, Unique Mappers Network, Nigeria etc.
She holds Bsc. in Environmental Resource Management, Post graduate diploma in Peace and Conflict Resolution (NOUN) Masters in Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies from the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
She is an environmental activist, peace building and climate change advocate, with experience working on strengthening stakeholder’s engagement in community development projects and mediation using indigenous approach to resolving resource based conflict, gender-sensitive approaches to climate change, migration and peace building.
She has mediated sessions on community development conflict and land disputes, facilitated dialogue sessions on women role in peace and development in southeast and southwest, Nigeria.
She has published works on environmental peace building and sustainability, mainstreaming peace building approach for sustainable development etc.
