She obtained a BA degree in Political Science and International Relations from Bogazici University. Her dissertation contributes to theoretical and empirical discussions regarding irregular migrants in the cities. She is currently working in UNU-WIDER as a consultant for the "Addressing Group-based Inequalities" project. She also worked as a researcher in the Euro-Mediterranean Research Network on Migration. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökay Özerim is a member of the International Relations Department and the Director of the European Union Research Center at Yaşar University, Izmir. Currently, he has been holding the Jean Monnet Chair on migration in EU-Turkey relations. His main study fields are international migration, security and European integration process. He was awarded Chevening Scholarship of UK Government in 2010 and carried out a part of his researches in the Centre of Migration, Politics and Society (COMPAS) at the University of Oxford as part of his PhD studies. In 2014, he has been at the Institute of European Studies in University of California, Berkeley as a visiting scholar. He has been also working in several European Union funded projects and delivering trainings on intercultural learning, youth participation, social responsibility and project management since 2005. He was awarded a Jean Monnet Module in 2016 and Jean Monnet Chair in 2019 by the European Commission.

About the Migration Network Hub

What is the Migration Network Hub?

The Hub is a virtual “meeting space” where governments, stakeholders and experts can access and share migration-related information and services. It provides curated content, analysis and information on a variety of topics.

The Hub aims to support UN Member States in the implementation, follow-up and review of the Global Compact for Migration by serving as a repository of existing evidence, practices and initiatives, and facilitating access to knowledge sharing via online discussions, an expert database and demand-driven, tailor-made solutions (launching in 2021).

What content is displayed in the Hub?

The Hub aims to help you find information on migration, ranging from policy briefs and journal articles, existing portals and platforms and what they offer, to infographics and videos. The different types of resources submitted by users undergo peer review by a panel of experts from within the UN and beyond, before being approved for inclusion in the Hub. To provide guidance to users based on findings of the needs assessment, the content is ordered so that more comprehensive and global resources are shown before more specific and regional ones.
