Giordano BOTTECCHIA is a Ph.D. candidate at Paris 8 University and Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa). The title of his project is "Twice foreigners. The departure of the Jews from Libya and their resettlement in Italy (1951-1987)". Giordano’s researches focus mainly on the history of Jews from North Africa, refugees, and decolonization. Together with his supervisor, he is also working on projects dealing with racism and anti-Semitism and he is a member of the editorial board of Alarmer (Association against anti-Semitism and racism through the mobilization of teaching and research).

Jasmien holds a master’s degree in Criminology (2018) and is currently completing her PhD at CRiS. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the connection between (social) media, identity formation, and youth belonging to groups considered as minorities. In her Master thesis she explored the self-narratives of girls in sport for a development project in Molenbeek (Brussels), and was awarded the Jeanine Segers Prize in recognition of the innovative research methods used, and her ability to give voice to and empower a hard-to-reach group. Her research interests include: urban youth; the voices of socially excluded groups; and self-narratives and diversity.

Dounia Bourabain is a Ph.D. Candidate at the sociology department of the Free University of Brussels. Her current research focuses on the experiences of women from different ethnic minority backgrounds with racism and sexism in higher education institutions. Her work has been published in, amongst others, Gender, Work and Organization; the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies; the DuBois Review; Race, Ethnicity and Education; and Higher Education Policy. She is also an editorial member of the Journal of Gender Studies. Besides her academic work, she also serves as an advisor in the federal evaluation commission on anti-discrimination law and other Belgian anti-discrimination organizations. She has been awarded several prizes for her academic work and is a Fulbright scholar.

Assistant Professor of Cultural Studies, University of Sfax, Tunisia, Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences (English Department) and Member of the Laboratory on Approaches to Discourse (LAD).
Research: Cultural Studies, Media studies, Migration Studies, with particular focus on immigration and its impact on host societies. Other research interests include ethnicity, minority groups, and national identities.
Teaching: American and British Studies focused on the social makeup of the US and Britain, emphasizing the main trends of immigration and paying attention to white immigration, political institutions, elections, political parties, the Anglo-American relationship, the British colonies, the American Revolutionary War, the American Civil War and so on. Other courses cover Historiography, with particular attention to the main trends and schools, as well as the use of the past.

Dr Hassan BOUSETTA (1970) is doctor in Social Sciences from the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). He is currently a FNRS (National Fund for Scientific) Research Associate at the University of Liège (Belgium). He joined the CEDEM at the university of Liège in February 2003. He was previously at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and is a former Marie Curie Visiting Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Ethnicity and Citizenship in the Department of Sociology of the University of Bristol (UK). Hassan BOUSETTA holds an MA in Political Science and Public Administration and an MA in the Sociology of Developing Countries, both from the University of Liège (Belgium). Between 1994 and 1997, he was a visiting fellow at the European Research Centre on Migration and Ethnic Relations at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) and held a Human Capital and Mobility Fellowship from the European Commission. From January 1997 till September 2000, he was involved in the Institue for Political Sociology and Methodology of the Katholieke Universiteit of Brussel where he completed his PhD on the political mobilisation of Moroccans in European cities. His work focuses on the political participation of immigrant minorities and on local multicultural policies. Hassan Bousetta has also collaborated to a number of consultancy projects both for private foundations (King Baudouin Foundation), international organisation (Council of Europe), cities (Paris, Antwerp, Bristol) and networks of cities (Eurocities).

I am an early career researcher working in the Monash Migration and Inclusion Centre at Monash University, Australia, and the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University. My research focuses on the intersections of digital media, belonging, migration and refugee studies, and digital and social inclusion.
