Laura Lamas Abraira is a graduate in Social and Cultural Anthropology and holds an international PhD in Intercultural Studies. Her research interests include care, migration and transnationalism, cultural engagement and social inequality.
Currently she is a Ramón y Cajal Junior fellow at the Department of Anthropology of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and collaborator of the EU-funded project “ AccessIN: Social Inclusion and Access to Basic Services of Third-Country Nationals (EU-Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, AMIF 2020-AG).

I am a bachelor in Finance and international relations, MA in international cooperation. I started my road through the migration topic as a researcher in a University on trafficking in-person projects. Then I worked as a migration policy advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I have worked with the International Labor Organization and, the Organization of American States - OAS on labor migration projects, especially programs for seasonal workers. Since 2019 with the World Bank, I am co-coordinating the implementation of a migration and health project for Colombia.

PhD Candidate at the Centre for Ethnic and Migration Studies (CEDEM) and at the Research Unit of Migration and Society (URMIS). Fellow at the Institut Convergences Migrations. She holds a Master of Sciences in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford and a Master of Arts in Conflict, Security, and Development from King’s College London. Her fields of interest include emigration policies, diasporas in conflict, and political transnationalism. Her research focuses on the transnational political activities organised by Latin American migrants living in Brussels and Paris.

Emily LeRoux-Rutledge is a Social Psychologist at the University of the West of England (UWE) who studies migration. She chairs the UWE Global Migration Network and convenes the annual Asylum Seeker and Refugee Wellbeing Conference at UWE. Prior to becoming an academic, she worked in International Development, and has conducted research in more than 25 countries. She has lived in Canada, Kenya, France, UK and Bangladesh.

I'm a PhD Candidate at the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University. My PhD research focuses on PRC-born migrants' senses of belonging and civic engagement in Sydney. I have also been involved in research projects related to international student mobility in Hong Kong and the UK, and internal educational migration in China.

Yong Li is a sociologist, post-doctoral fellow at the Triangle Laboratory, ENS de Lyon, France. He is research coordinator in the International Advanced Laboratory “Post-Western Sociology in Europe and in China” ENS Lyon/Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is also a fellow of the French Collaborative Institute on Migration. His research interests include student mobility, career paths of skilled migrants, experiences of discrimination and racism of people of Asian origin in France, migrant entrepreneurship, social ramification of the food safety scandals in mainland China.

I am a Research Fellow at the Migration Institute of Finland, focusing on ethnicity and digital media. With a background in area and cultural studies, I completed my doctoral studies at the University of Helsinki in 2022. My PhD dissertation examined the meanings of Sweden-Finnishness in social media campaigns and activism. My current research project examines the use of digital platforms by Finnish expatriates/diaspora and their influence on identity, belonging, and nationhood.
