These guidelines were developed under the auspices and overall guidance of the United Nations Legal Identity Expert Group, established in September 2018 and co-chaired by the United Nations Statistics Division/ Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the United Nations Development Programme and the United Nations Children’s Fund. These guidelines will be revised based on country level implementation of the United Nations Legal Identity Agenda.
