International Migration and Development: Report of the Secretary-General for the 75th Session of the General Assembly

The present report was prepared in response to General Assembly resolution 73/241. Section II presents the latest global levels and trends in international migration. Section III discusses recent activities, undertaken by entities of the United Nations system, to support countries in integrating migration considerations into national development plans. Section IV reports on progress in measuring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and targets related to migration. Section V presents the current status of ratification of the main international instruments related to international migration. Section VI provides a brief overview of efforts by the international community to convene an international conference on international migration, which culminated in the Intergovernmental Conference to Adopt the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, held in Marrakech on 10 and 11 December 2018. The report also briefly presents other recent activities of the General Assembly in the realm of international migration and development. Key findings and recommendations are presented in Section VII.
