I hold a PhD in Politics and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen and am a qualified solicitor in Ecuador. My research bridges the fields of refugee studies, security studies and Latin American mobility. My work explores security approaches to refugee movements in South America with theoretical focus on (de)securitisation and (in)visibility. I am currently expanding my research agenda to the intersections between migrant integration and interculturalidad. My empirical area of expertise is South America, particularly Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. I am also interested in participatory methods and critical discourse analysis.

She is a PhD student in the "Gender, Risk, and Social Vulnerability" research group and in the University Institute of Studies on Migration, Universidad Pontificia Comillas. She is being involved in projects arround the impact of COVID on the health of people in situations of prostitution, migration and trafficking in Spain, Belgium, Italy and Portugal. Holder of a PhD fellowship (FPU) from the Spanish Ministry of Universities to teach and conduct the thesis research. She has been a Professor in training at the Department of Sociology and Social Work. Advisor and researcher in the subjects of transnational migration, gender issues, and human trafficking. She has published in journals such as the Int. J. Environ. Res. Public Health and is a reviewer in "Qualitative Health Research - SAGE". She has been an honorary research assistant at University College London, where she led research on the risks of trafficking and exploitation among Ukrainians seeking refuge in the UK. Currently, she is a professor in the Psychology degree program at Cardenal Cisneros University Center, University of Alcalá de Henares.

Cat Gargano is a Phd student in Clinical Psychology and Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, where she is part of the Building Resilience After Violence Exposure (BRAVE) lab. Her research focuses on migration and mental health, with a particular emphasis on transit contexts. She focuses on migration governance policies and mental health outcomes, adapting MHPSS interventions for transit, social-ecological risk and resilience factors, and intergenerational trauma linked to migration or interpersonal violence. Cat holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an L.M. in Protection of Human Rights and International Cooperation from the University of Bologna, Italy.

Adele Garnier's research investigates the interplay of regulatory levels (local to global) in migration and refugee policy in a comparative perspective, with a current focus on refugees' participation in the labour market, the governance of refugee resettlement and the local integration of international students. She has published in the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Refuge, Brussels Studies, the Journal for the Academic Study of Religion and am the co-editor of Refugee Resettlement: Power, Politics and Humanitarian Governance (with Liliana Lyra Jubilut and Kristin Bergtora Sandvik, Berghahn Books, 2018).

She holds a PhD in Politics from Macquarie University and the University of Leipzig, Germany (2012) and have done postdoctoral research at the Interuniversity Research Centre on Globalization and Work (CRIMT), Université de Montréal, Canada (2015-2016) and the Group for Research on Ethnic Relations, Migration and Equality (GERME), Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium (2016-2017).

My research centers on the anthropology of forced migration, development, and time in the Middle East, with a particular focus on Jordan. I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Sheffield Institute for Global Sustainable Development, conducting participatory action research on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on Za'tari camp for the GCRF-funded project, COVID-19 PPE & Refugees. I also consult on development programs across the Middle East.
