Please provide a description of the pledge | The Jijiga City Administration will implement a project with two main interventions to support the livelihoods of IDPs and rural-urban migrants in and around Jijiga. The first is rehabilitating dry valley production of the city's agricultural systemas, including tree planting, water management, and infrastructure upgrading, as well as agricultural livelihoods trainings for IDP households. The second is participatory land planning through the development of Community Action Plans to build resilience to climate shocks for communities with a high presence of IPDs and migrants. This project is in line with Jijiga's proposed project for the MMC's Global Cities Fund for Migrants and Refugees. The Jijiga City Administration's project will have trhee main impacts: 1. IDP and migrant households generate income and assets through improved oppportunities for agricultural livelihoods. 2. IDP and migrant communities influence the resilience and sustainability of Jijiga city. 3. Residents of Jijiga benefit from rehabilitated infrastructure and improved nevironmental resilience. |
