Description
The purpose of this workstream is to provide forums for peer exchanges to understand racial discrimination in relation to implementation of GCM objectives and provide concrete strategies in combatting racism and xenophobia. Specifically, the priority aims to support the focus on GCM implementation at regional and country levels with specific capabilities/tools to assess and address the increased susceptibility to human rights violations and discriminations faced by migrants based on actual or perceived race, ethnicity or religious belief.

Hold peer exchanges to deepen an understanding of how racism and xenophobia comes up in certain themes, such as climate-related migration, missing migrants/migrants in distress, humanitarian assistance and criminalization, labour, etc., and what policy responses might look like, and support the development of indicators based on gender responsiveness and racial equality.
