Digitalisation of the asylum procedure and integrated identity management

The German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) is a pioneer in the field of digitalization in asylum procedures and uses innovative technologies (for instance block chain). In the framework of the German EU Council Presidency the BAMF organized a virtual expert meeting on 7 October 2020, where the topics of digitalization of asylum procedures, language biometrics and transcription of names were discussed. Focus of the event was in particular the exchange on the use of innovative digital methods and tools in the field of asylum as well as fostering European cooperation in this area.
