Partnerships to address the challenges and opportunities of human mobility in the context of changing climate and disasters

Side-event of the United Nations Climate Change Conference

Supporting just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies while including those most impacted by climate change represents an important adaptation strategy in the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) region, one of the regions most vulnerable to climate variability and change on the African continent. Human mobility including labour migration plays an important role in this process. This event seeks to enhance partnerships and accelerate the inclusion of vulnerable groups in sustainable development and the green economy transition in the context of a changing climate by showcasing human mobility-centred responses in the IGAD region.
