A historian of global and international history, Isabella Löhr’s research interests focus on European history in global contexts, including Western and Eastern European perspectives. In her research she tackles the history of (forced) migration and mobilities with an emphasis on exile, academic mobility and its intersections with modern humanitarianism. She is also an expert on the history of knowledge and knowledge production at the crossroad of migration research, politics and society.

Lola is a Ph.D. researcher in the University of Southern Denmark. She specializes in the field of Border Studies and has broad interests in feminist philosophy and political geography. Her current research focuses on the links between bordering and welcoming . Her investigation is based on long term and multisited ethnographic fieldwork in Paris, France, where she participates in several welcome initiatives for refugees.

Research Fellow at the Department of Sociology and Law of Economics since 2020, she conducts research in the field of sociology of the territory and migration. PhD in Sociology and Social Research (University of Bologna).
Her research interests are focused in particular on the theme of inequality of access to housing, housing policies and the migrant population. She currently focuses her research on the theme of territorial inequalities, with particular attention to shrinking areas, internal areas, territorial regeneration, inclusion and migrant population.
She is a lecturer in Methods and Techniques of Social Research, Sociology of Social Services and Sociology of migrations.
She is a tutor in Introductory Workshop On Internships (7 cfu) of the CdL in Social Work for the year 2019/20 and 2020/21.

I serve on professional Political Science associations. I'm President of the Italian Political Science Association, co-Convenor of the ECPR Standing Group on Organised Crime and Member of the Steering Committee of the Italian European Studies Association (AUSE);
I'm in charge as Deputy Rector for International Relations at the University of Catania, Member of the Academic Board of the Doctoral course on Political Science and Sociology at the Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa/Firenze.

Francesca Longo is full Professor of Political Science and Jean Monnet Professor of European Union Public Policies. She is PhD doctor in International Relation. Her research interests are focused on the EU migration Policy, EU policy against organised crime and the security policy of the EU. She has been a member of several international research group on the topic of the fight against organised crime and Immigration policy. She is Convenor of the Standing Group on Organised Crime – European Consortium for Political Research, member of the academic board of the “Rivista Italiana di Scienza Politica” and President of the Italian Political Science Association.

Dr. Gina Marie Longo is an assistant professor in the sociology department at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, USA. She completed her Ph.D. in Sociology with a PhD minor in religion and ethnic violence at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a Master's degree in Political Science. Her research focuses how citizens and state actors construct and police national belonging, subjectivities, and borders within the digital space. Her most recent research project investigates how U.S. citizens and state actors interpret and negotiate immigration policies through online social interaction. Her findings reveal the day-to-day, real-time practices that structure and uphold the gendered and racialized inequalities embedded in social policies. Her most recent publications can be found in Migration Politics, Gender & Society, and the Journal of Family Relations, and her work has been featured in the London School of Economic's US Centre, Mel Magazine, and Ms. Magazine.
