Ensuring effective implementation of GCM in Azerbaijan through drafting a comprehensive Action Plan
TENTATIVE DEADLINE OF IMPLEMENTATION:
In paragraph 53, GCM encourages Member States to voluntarily elaborate implementation plans for the effective execution of the Global Compact.
To this end, Azerbaijan commits to deliver and execute the Action Plan of the State Migration Service on the implementation of the specific objectives and all 10 guiding principles of the GCM. As the government authority which implements the Azerbaijan’s state policy in the field of migration, the State Migration Service implements all immigration related procedures, and participates in emigration and internal migration management.
The activities of the Action Plan will be defined by related guiding principles and objectives of the GCM and will have respective deadlines. The Plan will be an operational tool to achieve practical and accurate results.

GCM Objectives

17. Eliminate all forms of discrimination and promote evidence-based public discourse to shape perceptions of migration
18. Invest in skills development and facilitate mutual recognition of skills, qualifications and competences
19. Create conditions for migrants and diasporas to fully contribute to sustainable development in all countries
20. Promote faster, safer and cheaper transfer of remittances and foster financial inclusion of migrants
21. Cooperate in facilitating safe and dignified return and readmission, as well as sustainable reintegration
23. Strengthen international cooperation and global partnerships for safe, orderly and regular migration
