Germany will not take children and young people into deportation detention.

TENTATIVE DEADLINE OF IMPLEMENTATION:
The parties representing the federal government have agreed that they do not want to take children into custody pending deportation in the future. When exactly this will be enshrined in law is currently still open. However, as a rule, children have not been detained pending deportation, because by law it is only permitted as a last resort.
