PLEDGING INITIATIVE
Member of the Steering Committee in the Khartoum Process; Germany offered to take over the chair of the Khartoum Process in the 2023 on the rotating basis for one year.
The Khartoum Process (as well as the Rabat Process) is an important multilateral dialogue
format. It promotes migration cooperation between countries of origin, transit and host countries along the northern migration route between the Horn of Africa and Europe. The process offers substantive exchange, valuable networking opportunities, thematic workshops, conferences, expert exchanges. The established format allows to pursue a jointly coherent approach. Therefore the Khartoum Process can provide important impulses for the implementation of the objectives of the GCM.
Tentative deadline of implementation:31 December 2026
