Migration of the coastline eastward will also lead to the infiltration of sea water to river deltas. Migration of the coastline is affected not only by changes in sea level, but also by the height of the land and the sand balance, which is affected in populated coastal areas by human intervention in these processes (e.g., construction, sand mining, digging from the coastal strip and sea bed and the artificial transport of sand on land and in the sea).
