[...] Au Burkina Faso, où l'économie est dominée par l'agriculture et l'élevage qui occupent plus de 85 % de la population et assurent près de 70 % des exportations, la situation se caractérise par: l'occupation anarchique de l'espace, aggravée par d'importantes migrations des populations, source de nombreux conflits; [...] La migration est une caractéristique majeure de la population burkinabè. Entre 1985 et 1991, les migrations ont touché près de 10 % de l’ensemble de la population. Elles sont spontanées (individuelles ou familiales) et/ou sont liées à la recherche de meilleures conditions de vie ou organisées sous le contrôle de l’Etat vers des zones aménagées. [...] Objectifs poursuivis: définir et appliquer des politiques en matière de population et de migrations, propres à réduire la pression démographique sur les terres; [...].
