National Adaptation Plan to Climate Change 2021-2030 (PNACC)
- GCM Objective 2 - Minimize adverse drivers
In order to analyse the implications for Spain of the impacts of climate change abroad, it will be necessary to take into account various categories of flows through which the impacts can be transmitted: (...) humanitarian crises and associated migrations and displacements.
Nonetheless, further progress must be made in this direction, looking deeper into emerging issues such as climate migrations or territorial vulnerability analyses.
The loss of natural resources and ecosystem services can lead to massive population displacement, endangering migrants and putting stress on receiving areas. In this sense, it is necessary to further investigate the causes of migration, work on those causes and adapt to new realities, approaches and instruments, while promoting the positive aspects of legal migration in development processes.
Cambios geopolíticos: el cambio climático puede incidir en las relaciones internacionales, afectando a las políticas de asistencia humanitaria, defensa o cooperación.''
