Ps. 19, 77

This erosion causes an average decline of the coast of the order of 3 to 5 m/year with, however, extreme speeds of 10 to 12 m/year in certain segments of the coast, engulfing hundreds of hectares of land with the infrastructures they bear, creating a landscape of desolation. The resulting population displacements cause problems of occupation of space, the proliferation of precarious dwellings in non-constructible zones (flood zones), temporary occupations of land belonging to other communities, generating land disputes.

Ps. 19, 77

Sea level rise will require the displacement of more than 90% of the country's industrial units, currently concentrated in the coastal zone, and will affect the populations and services that constitute the engine of development of the country and would cause a delay in economic growth.
