Objectives
Increase understanding of migration as a cross-cutting issue in the SDGs.
Strengthen cohesion of UN partners in the UNCT who are working on migration.
Explore concrete ways that migration can be meaningfully integrated across UN country planning and programming.
Agreed actions
Utilize and integrate guidance materials from HQ into country-level outcomes, including guidance on elaboration of bilateral labour market agreements (BLMA).
Ensure that migration is properly reflected in the upcoming Common Country Assessment (CCA) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF)
Leverage on regional integration processes to further support country-level migration efforts, such as the Kampala Ministerial Declaration on Migration, Environment, and Climate Change (KDMECC)
Integrate migration into the Development Policy Papers, with aim of integrating these into Rwanda’s upcoming National Strategy on Transformation (NST-II): 2024-2028 etc…
