Objectives

  •  

  • Increase understanding of migration as a cross-cutting issue in the SDGs.

  • Strengthen cohesion of UN partners in the UNCT who are working on migration.

  • Explore concrete ways that migration can be meaningfully integrated across UN country planning and programming.

  •  

Agreed actions

  •  

  • Utilize and integrate guidance materials from HQ into country-level outcomes, including guidance on elaboration of bilateral labour market agreements (BLMA).

  • Ensure that migration is properly reflected in the upcoming Common Country Assessment (CCA) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF)

  • Leverage on regional integration processes to further support country-level migration efforts, such as the Kampala Ministerial Declaration on Migration, Environment, and Climate Change (KDMECC)

  • Integrate migration into the Development Policy Papers, with aim of integrating these into Rwanda’s upcoming National Strategy on Transformation (NST-II): 2024-2028 etc…
