Helping remittances reach rural areas in Moldova

Money sent from friends and family from abroad otherwise known as Remittances, make a huge difference to the lives of millions of rural people around the world. In Moldova the country receives more remittances than any other country in Europe. For lavender farmers like Valeriu 2020 was tough. A lack of customers and a drop in remittances severely affected his business, and he had to turn to Saving's and Credit Associations or SCA's to help him get by. The International Fund for Agricultural Development or IFAD supports the work of SCA's across Moldova and in many other countries around the world.
