Preparing Refugee Youth for Resettlement - The Role of Pre-Departure Orientation

This webinar presents the role of Pre-departure Orientation (PDO) in preparing refugee youth for resettlement. PDO activities aim at supporting refugees’ early integration and empowerment to better navigate their new societies in the resettlement country.

In light of the exchange of good practices with those countries with a wider tradition in resettlement, IOM UK presents the reasons guiding the development of youth-specific PDO programmes. In addition, PDO trainers provide a direct insight into the delivery of PDO for young refugees through the voices of children and teenagers who participated in the sessions.

Finally, the Trainers’ Handbook for Youth PDO, developed in the framework of the COMMIT project, is launched.
