I am a Social Anthropologist and Youth Worker always interested in exploring the overlaps between the two domains. My PhD research was concerned with young people in the Guatemalan diaspora in Southern Mexico and I am currently working on the AIMEC project exploring 'arrival infrastructures' of migrants in East London. Generally I am interested in topics around diaspora, memory and storytelling especially in regard to youth and intergenerationality. In my ethnographic practice I intend to combine youth and community work methods and principles with those of ethnographic research.

Dr. Eda Gemi is a political sociologist specialized in governance of migration in Southeast Europe and Western Balkans. She is Associate Professor at the University of New York Tirana where she holds the positions of the Head of the Law Department and the Director of ICL Master Program.
Dr. Gemi is Senior Researcher at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), where, from 2012 to 2016, she held the position of the Head of Migration Unit. She currently serves as national expert at the OECD Network of International Migration Experts in preparing the annual OECD report of International Migration Outlook. She is also member of Steering Committee of the Euro-Mediterranean Research Network on Migration (EuroMedMig). Dr. Gemi has authored a series of books on migration, integration, transnationalism, return and mobility in Southeast Europe, and EU-Western Balkan migration system. Her recent publications entitled “Rethinking Migration and Return in Southeastern Europe: Albanian Mobilities to and from Italy and Greece” and “Integration and transnationalism in a comparative perspective: The case of Albanian immigrants in Vienna and Athens” have been published by the Routledge and the Austrian Academy of Science, respectively. She has published articles in refereed journals (e.g., Ethnicities, International Review of Sociology), and book volumes (e.g., Oxford University Press, Routledge).

Jordi Giner Monfort holds a degree in Sociology. He has participated in various research projects and contracts, with more than 40 publications, including articles, book chapters and monographs. He has been a visiting researcher at the Institute for Research into Superdiversity (IRiS-Birmingham). His main line of research focuses on the migrations of the British nationals, with special attention to return movements towards the United Kingdom.

Dr. Marie Godin is a Lecturer in Human Geography at School of Geography, Geology and the Environment at the University of Leicester. She is a Research associate at the Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) and at the Refugee Studies Centre (University of Oxford ). Pedro Góis is a Professor in Sociology and Methodology at the Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra, and a Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES). Undergraduate degree in Sociology, masters and PhD in Sociology. He is an expert in sociology of migration and quantitative methodologies. Recently he was consultant or country expert for the International Organisation for Migration (OIM), Caritas International, The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), European Commission or European Migration Network (EMN). His most recent research-driven publications used quantitative and qualitative methodologies and include papers and books on: refugees in Europe; transnational ethnic identity; Portuguese immigration and emigration; Brazilian migration or Eastern European migrants; discrimination practices in the labour market; immigrants' descendants; and diasporic engagement practices and policies.

Steven J. Gold is Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Sociology at Michigan State University. His scholarly interests include international migration, ethnic economies, ethnic community development, qualitative field methods and visual sociology. Gold is the author, co-author, editor, or co-editor of nine books including The Israeli Diaspora (Routledge/University of Washington Press 2002) which won the Thomas and Znaniecki Award from the ASA’s International Migration Section for the best book on international migration in 2003. His book Ethnic Economies, co-authored with Ivan Light of UCLA, has received 1496 Google Scholar citations. The chair of 22 PhD dissertations and author of over 150 journal articles, book chapters, and book reviews, Gold received the Charles Horton Cooley Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Sociology from the Michigan Sociology Association in 2007 and was a Visiting Scholar for the Erasmus Mundus Joint European Master’s in International Migration and Social Cohesion program at the University of Amsterdam and University of Osnabruck during Fall 2014. He received the Distinguished Career Award from the American Sociological Association, International Migration Section in 2019.
