Ensuring migrants’ access to vaccination against COVID-19 regardless of migration status

TENTATIVE DEADLINE OF IMPLEMENTATION:

The pandemic also created new situations and challenges for the migration processes. Migration management of the Republic of Azerbaijan during the COVID-19 pandemic was organized in line with the principles of flexibility, transparency, efficiency and protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as recommendations of relevant international organizations.

Since the launch of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in Azerbaijan, migrants can be vaccinated on equal terms with Azerbaijani citizens. To achieve equitable access to vaccination, Azerbaijan commits to ensuring that all migrants, including those irregularly staying in the country, can benefit from vaccination measures without the risk of administrative expulsion from the country.

To achieve equitable access to vaccination, Azerbaijan committed to ensuring that all migrants, including those irregularly staying in the country, can benefit from vaccination measures without the risk of administrative expulsion from the country, and appropriate announcements have been made for migrants. In this regard, foreigners living in the country without documents entitled to stay or reside for a long period of time are invited to apply to the State Migration Service to legalize their residence. It was mentioned that legalization is necessary regarding vaccination and access to medical services.
