PLEDGING INITIATIVE
Increase flexible funding for humanitarian assistance in displacement contexts in Africa
Together with the International Organization for Migration, Germany has developed the flexible Humanitarian Programme for Africa containing a sustained and rapid response mechanism. In 2021 Germany supported the Humanitarian Programme for Africa with 6 million EUR and is committed to pay a minimum of 1 million EUR in the upcoming years until 2024. Current tightly-earmarked funding for IOM for humanitarian assistance projects in Africa will be subsequently transferred into the flexible Humanitarian Programme for Africa.
Tentative deadline of implementation:31 December 2024
