Safeguard humanitarian space/Humanitarian Call for Action

In 2019, Germany and France launched the Humanitarian Call for Action to strengthen respect for international humanitarian law and safeguard the humanitarian space; to ensure that principled humanitarian assistance can be delivered to those in need. By now, the Call has been endorsed by 52 signatories. By implementing this Call, Germany is committed to spread the strategic narrative that it is in everyone’s interest for States and in particular parties to armed conflicts to respect and ensure respect for international norms for the protection of civilians, including international humanitarian law, international human rights law, international refugee law.
