Roberta Altin is associate professor of cultural anthropology at the Department of Humanities, University of Trieste (Italy). Her research has mainly focused on transantional migrations, refugees studies and intercultural education. She is the coordinator of CIMCS – Centre for Migration & International Cooperation on Sustainable Development, University of Trieste.

Wendy Altınörs is a PhD candidate focusing on lived experiences of integration through an intergenerational lens adopting use of positioning theory and ethnic boundary making strategies. She has a particular interest in migration histories, especially those of a Turkish migration background.

Birce Altıok is the Coordinator and Post-doc Researcher at the Migration Research Center at Koç University (MiReKoc). She has been working in different research projects as a researcher mainly on forced migration for the past several years. She completed her doctoral research in Political Science and International Relations at Koç University (2021) and MA in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University (2011) and BS in Global and International Affairs from Binghamton (SUNY) and Boğaziçi University (2010). She wrote her PhD dissertation on refugee activism with a special focus on state-civil society relations. She has publications on foreign policy, social cohesion, and civil society. Her research interests include forced migration, diversity and internationalization of higher education, state policies and inclusion.

Juan Francisco Alvarado is a researcher at the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam in the topic of entrepreneurial failure and recovery. His PhD research was carried out at the universities of Milan and Brescia in Italy and University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. His project investigated the role of innovation and social networks as a characteristics of migrant entrepreneurs. Inside the IMISCOE PhD Network, he served as the PhD Representative for the period 2015-2016

Berta Álvarez-Miranda is tenured professor of Sociology at Complutense University, Madrid since 2001. She served as Research Director of the Spanish government's agency for public opinion research CIS between 2013 and 2017, in charge of national and international surveys on discrimination and attitudes towards migrants. Her quantitative research in the field of migration encompasses both general public opinion and ethnic minorities' believes and behaviors. Her qualitative work is currently focused on the processses of identity formation among Muslims in Europe, as related to naturalization and civic engagement; previously she has researched the perceptions of risks and benefits of migration among the social networks fo Moroccan irregulars.

Elisa Alves holds a PhD in Migration Studies (IGOT - Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning - University of Lisbon). Between 2016-2019 she was member of the IMISCOE PhD Network, and co-coordinator of the Workshop Group.

She holds a Master's in Education and Society (ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon), a Master's in Economics and Public Policy (ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management - University of Lisbon), and a Degree in Political Science and International Relations (Catholic University of Portugal).

In the past years, she has collaborated with the European Migration Network and the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service in several studies on the Portuguese case, as consultant and author. Has also participated in several research projects at CIES - Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology of ISCTE, in particular on education and higher education.

Her main interests are international students and mobility, public policies on education, migration and integration.
