TENTATIVE DEADLINE OF IMPLEMENTATION:
As a research institution dedicated to promoting the holistic and interdisciplinary study of migration, the Scalabrini Migration Center (SMC) is committed to contributing to the implementation of the GCM objectives through cooperation with stakeholders in the co-production of evidence-based knowledge. SMC will intensify efforts to monitor the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on migration and the transition to the post-pandemic future. Among the issues that would benefit from research as we move into the post-pandemic future are potentially new drivers, new opportunities and new vulnerabilities of migration as well as potentially new approaches to migration governance at different levels. SMC will work towards exploring different ways of sharing and disseminating research-based information to enhance the use of research in policymaking, advocacy, migrant empowerment, and public education.
